It was scheduled to be simply just another swimming event. But, what we got was the most controversial and debated officiating in Olympic history. From the deliberate false start, to the blatant disregard of a defeated athlete, this was a clear indication of the judges manipulating the competition. Tim Lukeski's frustrated scream upon diving, and his climactic, and somewhat violent, display of anger exiting the pool were fueled by his shortcomings in a notch in the swim win column. The cries of, "I care!", would ring out for hours in the winds of downtown Glen Burnie, even following James Garrett's second straight year of winning the Gold Medal in Swimming.
